Travel Experiences

Attempting to better understand the histories and traditions of diverse cultures is a lifelong priority for me.
To this end, I seek out real-life experiences whenever I travel. A few examples: I have visited a family home hit by a Qassam rocket in Sderot, Israel; examined baby crocodiles with Nubian children in Egypt; observed the Rwandan genocide tribunals in Arusha, Tanzania; played soccer with kids at a Chilean orphanage; inhaled tear gas observing a confrontation between protesters and Israeli soldiers in Bil'in; met with Bahraini women who are challenging the authority of the Shar'ia courts; discussed free market economics with community leaders in Cuba; and shared family meals in thirteen countries.
